Note: You are usually considered a U.S. “tax resident” if you came to the U.S. as an F-1 or J-1 student in 2007 or earlier. This means that you have been in the U.S. as an F-1 or J-1 student for more than five “calendar years.”
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
(For U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, and U.S. tax residents only).
Washtenaw County Asset Building Coalition (WABC) is providing tax assistance at the Ann Arbor District Library. See Free Tax Preparation Assistance in Washtenaw County for the tax assistance schedule and information about how to make an appointment and what to bring to your appointment. NOTE: We recommend this service for tax residents only since the volunteers who are providing this service may not be familiar with the tax regulations for F and J students and scholars who are tax nonresidents. We advise F and J students and scholars who are tax nonresidents to use GLACIER Tax Prep to prepare their tax forms.
