Other Tax Software (for Residents for Tax Purposes)
Residents for tax purposes may be able use one of the free tax preparation services listed at the U.S. Department of Treasury Internal Revenue Service web site. Other options include purchasing commercial tax software or paying to use commercial tax preparation web sites. Two examples of the many such products available are Turbotax or H&R Block At Home™.
State Tax Software
The State of Michigan Department of Treasury offers links to software companies offering tax preparation and e-filing services. Look for “state only” offers since the non-resident federal tax return cannot be e-filed, and make sure that the non-resident form (Michigan Schedule NR) is available.
