International Visitor Leadership Program
The U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program Coordinator plans visits and coordinates programs for current or potential international leaders who have been invited to the U.S. through the International Visitor Program of the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. U-M is a founding member of the National Council for International Visitors (NCIV), has one of only six university-based programs, and hosts approximately 130 international visitors annually.
Guided by the background and interests of the international visitor, the U-M International Visitor Leadership Program Coordinator plans events that promote intellectual exchange and research and partnerships with University of Michigan departments. Events might include academic discussions, presentations, seminars, luncheon meetings and cultural activities for a wide range of interests. Depending on the interests of the visitor, the International Visitor Leadership Program Coordinator may also arrange visits to organizations in the surrounding community.
