Description: Going to a barbecue (BBQ) is an American summer tradition. It is common to have BBQs for birthdays, high school/college graduations, and other large celebrations. Come celebrate summer in Ann Arbor with a BBQ at Island Park! There will be American BBQ food (vegetarian options will be available) and typical BBQ games to play, such as American football.
Description: During your international experience this summer, you will likely be exploring a new culture and engaging with a new community. This workshop will cover a range of topics, including:
- Understanding and dealing with culture shock in your host country and reverse culture shock after returning back home.
- Navigating your social identities abroad.
- Entering and exiting your community respectfully.
- Ethical photography and social media considerations.
This workshop is open to all students!
Description: Traveling abroad this summer? Come to "Survival Language and Culture" to find out about resources, tips, and tricks for navigating an unfamiliar language and culture! This workshop will be presented by the International Center and the Language Resource Center.
Description: In these sessions, we’ll work on pronunciation, vocabulary, intonation, syllable stress and speaking in social and academic settings. Each session focuses on different situations in which you might need to use specific “chunks” of English. Please choose which (or all) sessions you’d like to attend.

Description: Social Hour for International Families is intended for international families to connect with and lend support to one another. It provides a sense of community among international families affiliated with U-M.
Spouses, partners, and children of international students, scholars, faculty and staff are welcome to attend.

Description: Identities Abroad is a series of student panels, focusing on how social identities shaped/impacted their experiences working, traveling or studying abroad. Come to prepare for your own experience abroad, and meet peers who can assist you in the journey. There will also be representatives from the International Center and Center for Global and Intercultural Studies at the events if you have questions about going abroad.

Description: Please join us for the International Wellness Fair on February 5 from 5-7PM! The event is in the Student Activities Building Lobby, and it is open to all students, scholars, faculty and staff. We will have groups from all over campus tabling and sharing wellness resources, as well as fun wellness activities such as blast fitness classes (Zumba, Yoga, Meditation), crafting and more!
