Students and scholars with Birthdays during the month of March are invited to stop by the International Center to pick up a donut and coffee during our monthly “Birthday Brunch.” This is a grab-and-go event.

Meeting Location: Michigan Language Center (715 E. Huron Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48104)

Description: The city of Ann Arbor is full of culture, entertainment, nature and good food! Learn about the city of Ann Arbor and visit popular downtown spots, such as libraries, museums, cafes, and specialty shops. The tour will start at Michigan Language Center. You are not required to stay for the entire duration of the tour so feel free to exit the tour at anytime.

Description: Going to a barbecue (BBQ) is an American summer tradition. It is common to have BBQs for birthdays, high school/college graduations, and other large celebrations. Come celebrate summer in Ann Arbor with a BBQ at Island Park! There will be American BBQ food (vegetarian options will be available) and typical BBQ games to play, such as American football.

Description: In these sessions, we’ll work on pronunciation, vocabulary, intonation, syllable stress and speaking in social and academic settings. Each session focuses on different situations in which you might need to use specific “chunks” of English. Please choose which (or all) sessions you’d like to attend.
