International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS)
Camila joined the University of Michigan in 2019. Camila earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Ohio University in Athens, OH. Camila conducted research and worked in both Ecuador and India. Most recently, Camila worked as an Immigration Coordinator at The Ohio State University for over 3 years. Camila is a NAFSA member and has served on the leadership team for NAFSA Region VI. Camila was awarded the 2017 Dorothy Brickman Award for Outstanding New Professional at the NAFSA Region VI regional conference.
Oluwadamilare, (short form: Damilare) joined the ISSA team in October 2016 and is an edu-cultural explorer! Born in Nigeria, he has traveled to 22 countries and lived in 8 of them, across Africa, Asia, Europe, Central America, and North America. Damilare has an MA in Cross-cultural and International Education from Bowling Green State University, Ohio and an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's degree from four universities in Norway, France, Hungary, and the United Kingdom.
Jeremiah joined the International Center in 2017 after previously working in Admissions for the University of Michigan's Ross School of Bussiness. He proudly graduated from the University of Michigan in 2016 with a degree in Education.
Jeremiah has traveled abroad numerous times, his favorite international city by far is Florence, Italy.
Monica joined the ISSA team in September 2016 and is an alumna of the University of Michigan. She returns to Michigan after working in business immigration law firm environments for approximately 8 years in Chicago and New York. She is enjoying the opportunity to help international students and scholars at her alma mater.
Monica is originally from Michigan and in her spare time enjoys traveling, photography, cooking and being a foodie.
Katherine joined the International Center in 2015 as an Immigration Assistant. She studied abroad to Japan in high school and college. Following graduation she worked in Korea as an ESL instructor while pursuing her Masters in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education.
Katherine was born and raised in Michigan. She especially enjoys trips up north, skiing, backpacking and hiking.
John has been an International Student & Scholar Advisor at the University of Michigan since 2011. John studied abroad in England during both high school and graduate school, and entered the field of international education after pursuing related coursework and practical training while completing a MA in Higher Education and Student Affairs at The Ohio State University. John also held a variety of student affairs positions during his undergraduate years at Middlebury College.
Susan has been with the International Center since July 2012. Her past work experience includes newspaper marketing, project management, and corporate training. She has been an ESL instructor for the last twelve years, and spent two years in Poland with Cambridge University’s International House. Susan has traveled widely, and in her spare time enjoys writing, the arts, sewing, reading, and photography.
Kaitlin joined the ISSA team in 2015 after spending the last few years living and working in Belgium. She advises international students and scholars, helping them navigate immigration regulations, higher education in the United States, and cross-cultural communication. She takes a proactive approached to advising and is particularly mindful of students’ mental health and well-being.
